Tile floor refinishing

VCT Strip and Wax in Irving

Worn wax off. Sealer on. Fresh coats. Burnished shine. All done while the building is closed.

Yellow Floors Do Not Buff Back

Floor wax wears. Dirt gets ground into it. Mopping leaves a film. Layer by layer, the finish turns cloudy and yellow, and the hallways and doorways go dark. You can buff it, but past a certain point that just polishes the grime. What it needs is a complete strip and refinish. Here is how we do it. First, stripping chemical goes on and breaks down the old coat. Then the machine scrubs. The slurry gets vacuumed up and the tile is rinsed until it is bare and clean. Then a sealer coat. Then several thin coats of finish, each one dried before the next goes on. Last, a high-speed burnisher hardens the finish and pulls up the shine. The result looks like new tile and holds up longer. We do this work in Irving offices, classrooms, sanctuaries, shops and clinics, almost always overnight or on a weekend. Your account manager sets the date, tells you what will be moved and lets you know when the floor is ready for traffic. One person. Start to finish.

Every Step

A full job runs like this.

  • Room cleared

Chairs and tables out. Back in once it cures.

  • Edges by hand

Corners and wall lines worked by hand so nothing gets missed.

  • Old wax stripped

Chemical on, machine scrubbing until the old coat lets go.

  • Slurry out

Picked up and rinsed until the tile is bare.

  • Sealer down

A base coat that gives the finish something to grip.

  • Finish coats

Thin coats, dried between each. No shortcuts.

  • Burnished

A fast-spinning pad toughens the surface and makes it shine.

  • Care plan

Tips on mopping and burnishing so the shine lasts.

How the Job Goes

  1. Your manager looks at the floor

Square footage, finish condition and how the room is used. That sets the coats and the time needed.

  2. Pick the night

A night or weekend when the room is empty. You know what moves and when it is back.

  3. Crew does the work

Strip, seal, coat, burnish. Room put back. We tell you when the heavy stuff can go back.
